Despite Cruz’s own claims of being an outsider in the Senate, a lot of Republican voters don’t buy it. By two to one (52% to 26%), voters say they prefer someone who is an outsider to one favored by the GOP establishment, and they are evenly divided in how to categorize Cruz.
“The millions of dollars of attack ads will come, but they’re not gonna overcome, I believe, the strength of the grassroots”, Cruz said.
“Ted Cruz complains about my views on eminent domain, but without it we wouldn’t have roads, highways, airports, schools or even pipelines”, he tweeted.

At the awards ceremony, held in conjunction with a gun show, Trump reiterated his support for the Second Amendment – a topic that has been a constant refrain at his rallies and often draws loud applause. “I think if you do indiscriminate bombing in the Middle East, you may well create more terrorists than you kill”.
Cruz compared the billionaire’s health care proposals as “indistinguishable from Bernie Sanders” during an interview with ABC News that aired early Friday. And most of the pro-Trump sentiment reported this week is driven by hatred of Cruz rather than any affection for Trump.
Yet mainstream Republicans say they’re essentially powerless to stop him. That was notable stylistically because Trump rarely-if ever-reads from prepared remarks while campaigning.
