New York Times columnist David Brooks writes this morning that the campaign is still in the “casual attention stage” and compared it to a recent rug-shopping experience he had – a very Trump-like pink rug temporarily caught Brooks’ eye until “a subtler and more prosaic blue rug grabbed center stage”.
The CNN/ORC Poll was conducted by telephone November 27 through December 1 among a random national sample of 1,020 adults.
“I like Ben Carson, he’s a nice guy”, Trump began, “but do you see the way they deserted him?”
Several national security experts will also offer their takes on how the USA should respond to the shooting, which the FBI is investigating as an ” act of terrorism”.
Fifty-five percent of Republican voters that were surveyed said they trust the businessman to handle the US economy, granting him a 46 point lead over its nearest rival in the issue.
The important thing to remember, however, is that the Iowa Caucuses are virtually irrelevant in the GOP primary season. All other candidates have the support of less than 5% of GOP voters in the race for the Republican Party’s nomination for president. Only once has the victor eventually won the general election. In last month’s Quinnipiac poll, Mr. Carson was in a statistical dead heat with Mr. Trump, with each man drawing just under a quarter of the Republican vote. Marco Rubio from Florida at 12%. Trump doesn’t want money’. But the new polls shows one of the starkest divides yet.
Ruby said she believes Trump, unlike most politicians inside the Washington beltway, actually cares about America and ordinary Americans. Bush and his backers, by contrast, have spent almost triple the amount of the second highest spender (Rubio), and have barely managed 5%. (My use of the weasel word “near” reflects the reality that political predictions can run afoul of unknown unknowns.) But Trump’s enduring strength among the most disheartened members of his party – and the divided loyalties of upscale Republicans – suggests that it is wishful thinking for the Republican powers-that-be to say they are sure he will never be nominated. In New Hampshire, for example, independents can also vote. Its Republican figures have a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points; the error margin for the Democratic polling is 4.1 percentage points.

In another example, Carson tried to challenge Trump’s claim that he was a “low-energy” candidate by recalling how he nearly stabbed a classmate in “pathological anger” that was only stopped by the boy’s belt buckle.
All were removed quickly as the crowd booed and Trump continued.
