Donald Trump Says His Convention Speech Was ‘Very Optimistic’
When he officially accepts the 2016 Republican nomination for president Thursday night, Donald Trump will do so as a different kind of Republican.
Donald Trump in a new interview defended the speech he gave at the Republican National Convention as “very optimistic” amid criticism that the GOP presidential nominee’s message was too “dark”.
Also notable by his absence in the convention hall in Quicken Loans Arena was Ohio’s Republican governor, John Kasich, who not only refused to welcome his fellow Republicans to his state, but also snubbed Trump by not attending his acceptance of the party’s presidential nomination.
Cruz and Trump have both said that the remarks were shared ahead of time and Trump knew what was (or rather, wasn’t) coming.
“I don’t call him anything”. Other than further proof of Trump’s demagoguery, we learned five things at the convention.
“In retrospect, I wish I would have waited another minute. Because he was being booed right off the stage”.
Ted Cruz is delusional if he thinks his ultimate goal in life of becoming president will one day be a reality. Trump said that he considered not letting Cruz speak at the convention after reviewing his speech, but decided against it. I wish she would have said that to the families of veterans killed by the wait list scandal. This is not very exciting. Yes, it was a big deal that Trump defeated 16 rivals for the GOP crown.
During an event Friday in Cleveland, Trump openly mused about setting up his own super PAC to oppose Cruz in 2018.
“There’s some issues that Donald Trump is on the left of Hillary Clinton, and there are some issues where she is running more conservative, traditional republican positions than he is running”, said Dunn.
He doesn’t care about what Pence will do to the middle class, he doesn’t care what Pence will do to the nation, and he certainly doesn’t care what Pence will do to you and me. “Cruz’s commitment to the Republican party”, said Rottinghaus.
She embraced her reputation as a studious wonk, a politician more comfortable with policy proposals than rhetorical flourishes.
“It’s hard to maintain the enthusiasm you need for four years, especially after being beaten”, he said.
Like half of America, I already knew that. It’s mean. It’s vicious.
If you’re thinking of voting for Trump because you’re sick of us wasting all that blood and treasure in the Middle East, what you’re actually going to get is Mike Pence, who was one of the biggest Iraq War boosters around.
Trump said last week it was the most beautiful and love filled convention in the history of convention.
After a quarter-century just behind the men in charge, Clinton gets her turn alone with the American public on Thursday evening. “But we wrote that speech with no references”. “You can’t say, it’s OK, and then you find out it’s not OK and you don’t want to do anything. By contrast, CBS News shows Trump gaining only 1 percentage point, but its previous poll was conducted earlier this month, shortly after the controversy over Clinton’s email scandal resurfaced”. Ailes denies the allegations. He’s such a great guy. Though, she caveats her reforms as not being as extreme as Trump’s, likely in a calculated attempt to pander to union voters. “But when you think about Roger Ailes, in the history of television, there’s really been nearly no instances where something like this has been done”, he said.
But the higher Democratic ratings are still seen as a surprise, given that Trump has been such a consistently strong media draw throughout the presidential campaign. Showtime’s “The Circus” airs on Sundays at 8pm ET and is produced in cooperation with Bloomberg Politics.
