Donald Trump stumps in Bernie Sander s’ backyard
To get one of 1,400 seats at Donald Trump’s rally here Thursday night, hundreds and hundreds of people waited for hours in the cold and then had to answer a question like this: Do you support Donald Trump?
If anti-Trump demonstrations broke out attendees were asked to please do not touch or harm the protester, but to instead yell, Trump repeatedly until security arrived. Ya, don’t give him his coat. “You know it’s about 10 degrees below zero outside”, he said.
You may have heard Trump make a remark to protestors inside the Flynn that he would have their coats held hostage. “If he wins the Republican nomination, we’ll have plenty of time to talk”, Mr. Clinton told reporters Thursday while stopping at a market in Cedar Rapids, where he tried various foods and spoke to customers. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) described Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump as a “pathological liar” and said he anticipated his popularity will wane.
“I said to the campaign manager ‘you lied to me, ‘ and I was met with shrugged shoulders”, he said.
“You know what gun free zone is to a sicko?”
At the door, campaign staffers turned away anyone who admitted they don’t support Trump.
On the other side, Trump supporters waiting in line to enter the theater responded to protesters. At first, the pledge seemed to work, and Trump presided over an unusually calm and collected rally crowd inside the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, a historic 1930s Art Deco theater. The order came around thirty minutes into his speech as Trump began losing control of his crowd for the first time in many rallies.
Whether it was holding onto the microphone or anything else Trump deemed important-building a wall on the Mexican border, taking Iraq’s oil-he said that only he has the reasonable and strong position, while everyone else is weak, stupid and incompetent.
“We have more than 20,000 people that showed up for 1,400 spots”, the billionaire NY businessman said in a statement.
Does he want to show GOP voters that he is the candidate who can, finally, flip those three Electoral College votes Vermont has? I say appears because, as has been common practice for his campaign, Trump and his staff have declined to elaborate on what exactly the candidate is proposing.
“I mean think of it”, he concluded”, -a gun-free zone on a military base with some of the best soldiers we have sitting there, relaxing, watching television.
“Trump is a man who likes to be on the couch with a good cheeseburger and likes to watch TV – he’s a homebody”, said his friend and former adviser Roger Stone, who recently founded a pro-Trump Super PAC, a political group that can raise unlimited funds to advocate for Trump as long as it does not coordinate with his campaign. Oh, I would love to run against Bernie.
Why no one has done a propaganda ad for or against the mighty senator from Vermont is beyond me, but Trump just had a not-so-great weekend in Sanders’ backyard, stumping for support.
Trump also promised to protect the Second Amendment in the wake of President Obama’s executive actions aimed at expanding background checks on firearms.
