Donald Trump Takes On New Fox News Host: ‘Very Negative to Me’
“When people criticize him, he takes it personally”, O’Reilly said.
In another tweet, Trump said, “O’Reilly, why don’t you have some knowledgeable talking heads on your show for a change instead of the same old Trump haters”. “I just think this is an extension of his reality show, ‘The Apprentice.’ This is just theater right now”.
Before Donald Trump started openly trashing Bill O’Reilly on Twitter last night, the Fox News host taped an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, during which he actually had some pretty nice things to say about the GOP frontrunner.
“If I were Donald Trump I would be very very friendly to you over the coming months”, Kimmel joked.
Donald Trump’s tweets slamming Fox News and people who criticize him are “just an extension” of his reality show, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly explained Tuesday. But once Kimmel brought up the idea of O’Reilly challenging Trump for the Republican nomination, he couldn’t help but do some boasting of his own.
After making his thoughts known, the real estate tycoon then retweeted negative comments about Fox News, including one that seemingly referenced O’Reilly and his guests as “spoon fed morons”.
Trump’s first attack on Fox News in August, in which he accused Kelly of harsh treatment during the debate, was followed by detente.
While O’Reilly called Trump’s campaign “an interesting phenomenon”, he neither believed Trump’s bluster would cost the Republicans the election, nor that only conservatives were latching on to his message. Everybody else is bashing the hell out of Donald Trump. “But he has engaged people, he has forced them to pay attention and they are paying attention, and that is good for America”.
