Donald Trump takes U-turn, drops plans to investigate Hillary Clinton’s email server
Hillary could stop this lawlessness by urging her supporters to accept the result of the election, as she lectured Trump when she thought she would win. He also told Clinton on her face that she would be in jail if he becomes the president.
Republican President-elect Donald Trump defeated Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes in the state of MI, according to certified unofficial county-by-county results released on Wednesday by the MI secretary of state.
Following the outcome of the presidential election – which surprised pundits and voters alike – many people in major cities including Los Angeles and NY protested against Trumps win, carrying banners reading not my president.
As vote counting continued in some states, Clinton’s advantage stood Wednesday at 2,017,563, a figure that could grow because uncounted ballots remain in states where she won, especially in California, the country’s biggest state along the Pacific Ocean shoreline.
In a call with donors, she claimed that two letters Comey sent to Congress, one effectively re-opening the probe and then another closing it again after finding no new evidence of wrongdoing, had tilted crucial states towards her Republican rival.
Trump, who once criticized the Electoral College as undemocratic, now salutes it as having a “certain genius”.
Well, he won. But on Tuesday, Trump indicated he doesn’t want to pursue more investigations against Clinton.
Yet, while we agree Trump shouldn’t himself do it, there are already investigations ongoing – and they definitely should not be halted.
He predicted his supporters would not be disappointed because the Trump administration would “save our country” in other ways.
But that said, that doesn’t mean we think Hillary and Bill Clinton should go scot-free if crimes are found to have been committed.
But he said he did not want to “hurt the Clintons” and wants to move on.
During the campaign, he criticised the Federal Bureau of Investigation for failing to recommend that she face prosecution for potentially putting classified information at risk by using a personal server to send and receive official emails.
If they can succeed in denying Trump the 270 electoral votes needed to win, the decision would then go to the House of Representatives, where delegations of representatives from each state would decide whom to support.
