Donald Trump to hold Florida rally
President Donald Trump is out of Washington for the weekend. His latest outburst came a day after he forcefully defended his administration in a marathon White House news conference, brushing aside the tumult, infighting among senior staff and setbacks in courts and Congress.
Asked by reporters aboard Air Force One if a campaign rally was too early, Trump said that “life is a campaign” and that making America great again is a campaign. He also hinted he had a favorite.
A day after his unprecedented remark branding a certain section of the media as “the enemy of the American people”, United States President Donald Trump continued bashing the press in his Florida rally, where he noted that fake stories were being churned against him without any usage of sources whatsoever.
He later added, “I respect Obama as a person, but what he did – what he did was set this country up for failure”.
Also on Trump’s schedule Sunday: phone conversations with several foreign leaders Sunday and a health care policy meeting. He attacked the media, promised to cut taxes, deport drug dealers and criminals and create jobs for Americans.
And he said his administration would submit “in a couple of weeks” a plan to repeal and replace “the disaster known as Obamacare”.
Then Mr Trump reappeared at the podium, saying: I wouldn’t say the secret service was thrilled with that but we know our people – we know our people’.
He was later interviewed by CNN, and told the reporter to “be nicer to the president” who he claims “taught him everything”.
Cheered on by a 9,000-strong crowd packed into an airport hangar in Melbourne, Florida, the President said he wanted speak to his supporters without the filter of “fake news”. “He also enjoyed reliving his surprise victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton”. After ordering the Secret Service to allow the man to hop a security barrier, Trump turned over the microphone to allow the man to address the crowd. No, I just – I’m coming in – That’s okay, let him up, let him up. The Republican reveled in the parts of the campaign that included applause, fawning audiences, bright lights, and plenty of cameras, each of which made Trump feel very good about himself. “I think you’ll be impressed”, he said.
President Trump’s rally comes as his approval ratings hit a new low.
He said he expected to have a new order ready on the issue, and that it would be ready “soon”.
Flynn’s departure was another blow.
Huber than ran to Trump and hugged him.
