Donald Trump Will Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ in November
Has a Presidential candidate ever hosted SNL?
The GOP presidential frontrunner’s “SNL” appearance comes nearly exactly one year before thr presidential Election Day, which falls on November 8, 2016. It’s even better for Saturday Night Live that I’m here.
In April 2004, The Donald was invited to host the late-night show in the wake of the first season of “The Apprentice”.
Despite booting the The Apprentice-creator in June for being a racist embarrassment to the network, long-struggling NBC has made a decision to gamble on Trump‘s success as a “ratings machine” with the invitation.
“After just one season, I am about to become the highest-paid television personality in America”, he added.
Trump was joined onstage by SNL star Darrell Hammond, who served as his “replacement” in mimicking his signature “you’re fired” tag-line.
The Donald will be bringing his comedic chops to the sketch comedy show on November 7, right in the middle of sweeps.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is going big – countering her recent “Saturday Night Live” cameo with an actual hosting gig. NBC had faced pressure to lose Mr Trump’s shows after a rage was caused by his remarks in summer time.
In that same episode, the opening skit featured a message from Trump and his wife Melania, played by cast members Taran Killam and Cecily Strong.
Following Hillary Clinton’s appearance on SNL, NBC’s owned station in New York, WNBC, filed the following in its FCC political file, indicating it was aware of the obligation.
