Donald Trump Wins 5th Presidential Debate In Las Vegas
Republican US presidential candidate businessman Donald Trump (L) reaches out to Senator Ted Cruz as they talk during a commercial break in the midst of the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nevada December 15, 2015. The national conversation at the debate was dominated by Southern California issues. Mired in the single digits, far below Trump, in national polls, Bush told Trump during the match-up that he couldn’t insult his way to the presidency and called the former reality show host a “chaos candidate”.
“Here’s what we learned in 2013”, Rubio said.
“I’m never eating Oreos again”, he said. I believe that gravity will bring both of those campaigns down. He said that very simply because he has failed in this campaign. “Our country is out of control”.
A driving factor behind the move was Trump’s proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the United States, a step that Bush denounced to Trump’s face at the debate.
For a few days, it looked like one of the most curious alliances in the GOP presidential race was in peril – that of Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.
Cruz continued to heap praise on Rubio even when criticizing him. But then he played the fear-monger by attacking Rubio’s half-hearted push for immigration reform, which he contended weakened our national defense.
While Graham rebuked Trump’s comments, he, too, said he would support the GOP nominee “whoever he or she may be”, as the GOP’s nominee would be a better choice than Hillary Clinton.
“There is nothing we are allowed to do under this bill that we were not allowed to do before”, Rubio said. At the top of mind – the San Bernardino shootings and the threat to the Los Angeles Unified School District and resulting school closures. Hours before the debate was to begin, officials in Los Angeles closed all schools after an emailed threat that was later deemed a hoax.
Tuesday night in Las Vegas marks the last time we’ll see the GOP candidates together before the new year. “Every parent is wondering, how do we keep our kids safe?”
DONALD Trump, statesman? Who knew?
He added, “And I don’t know why others don’t feel compelled to point that out, but I did”. Ben Carson was next with 24.
When one of the panellists asked him whether he is ready to reassure Republicans that he will run as a Republican and abide by the decision of the Republicans, Trump replied: “I really am”. Carly Fiorina, who’s fading fast, bragged about helping the NSA after 9/11 when she was Hewlett-Packard CEO-and may have divulged classified information. They all succeeded at their first objective, but I’m not sure anyone scored on the second.
