Doom launches worldwide on May 13
Bethesda has taken time out of their busy Thursday to drop a new trailer for their upcoming “Doom” reboot, as well as lay out their release plans.
Doom will also receive a Collector’s Edition release, which will contain “an exclusive, fully-realized 12” tall collector’s statue of one of the game’s most iconic demons: the Revenant. Along with a metal case, the collector’s edition is set to retail for $119.99.
This morning, Bethesda announced that Doom would arrive on May 13.
Doom is just around the corner, though a little further than we thought. The model is based on real in-game files and comes complete with LED lit base and internal slow turning turbine. In a recent preview, Gamesradar said the game was “the most cerebral slaughterhouse you’ve ever seen”, saying that Doom is “an intricate, polished, and aggressively tuned-up machine, with intelligent and purposeful design underpinning every whirling mechanism and furious combustion”. I can’t tell you what this one is about beyond fighting demons on Mars, but does that really matter? This comes with a demon armor set, which itself features three skin variations, six paint colors, and three id Software patterns to put on your armor and weapons. They liken these hack modules to burn cards from Titanfall – bonuses you can activate after death that give you a reason to be happy you’re respawning.
