Dove brand chocolates recalled, ingredients missing from label
Mars was notified of the missing ingredients when a consumer opened a bag that contained Snickers.
A popular candy manufacturer has recalled seasonal chocolates sold in more than half the country over potential allergens including wheat, peanuts and egg being in the chocolate but not listed on the label.
Some bags of Dove Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes are being recalled because of missing ingredients on the package.
According to the FDA, the 24 oz. purple bag is marked correctly but some cases of the candy could include Snickers, Milky Way and Twix pieces. While there have been no injuries or adverse reactions reported yet, if you have serious allergies, it pays to be safe.
Candy maker, Mars, says it’s recalling 6,700 cases of its Dove Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes. The firm added it was working with the retailer to ensure the recalled product is removed from sale.
This item was shipped and distributed to Walmart and sold at retail food stores starting September 19 through December 1.
The company is working to remove the products from store shelves and is encouraging customers with potential allergy issues to return them for a refund.
