Downton Abbey season 6: Huge spoiler given away by rogue prop
Downton Abbey continues this Sunday (October 4) at 9pm on ITV. However, the 66-year-old screenwriter feels “incredibly lucky” to be at the helm of such a successful show.
Look away now if you don’t want to know the ending of Downton Abbey: a key prop was left behind in a church after filming, leaking a major spoiler about how the series will wrap up.
The prop in question is, according to the publication, a detailed wedding order of service. However, the member of the public who found the pamphlet in Bampton, Oxfordshire, said it included the names of the characters walking down the aisle, the prayers, the hymns and the vows.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The cast and crew of “Downton” have gone to great lengths to hide the storylines for the sixth and final series”.
Jim Carter, who plays butler Mr Carson, previously teased that viewers should expected multiple nuptials, along with his own to housekeeper Mrs Hughes (Phyllis Logan).
The photo above is one of several images released by production company Carnival Films of the upcoming occasion, which is going to see Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes tie the knot after becoming engaged at the end of last season.
The marriage of veteran sweethearts Charles and Elsie (although no one can ever imagine calling them that) is the sort of storyline that in a conventional drama series would be the centerpiece of a Christmas special.
‘It seems a bit ridiculous that all those security measures could be put in place and then someone just leaves an order of service lying around for anyone to find’. There are lots of negotiations to go on before we hear wedding bells.
