Downton Abbey: the final episode will be emotional
“But these characters, we say goodbye to them, but it’s not final…we see them setting off on different paths. Two hankies, Christmas night”.
Downton Abbey Season 6 premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3.
Speaking during an appearance at Edinburgh TV Festival, Jim said: “It took six years – tortoises mate quicker! He just looked at me and pointed at his hand as if to say “from here genius comes”.
Carnival Films managing director Gareth Neame said he realised recently that although “it definitely is the end of the television show …”
With Downton now ending, Jim confirmed that he’s doing a documentary for ITV about musician Lonnie Donegan, and will be interviewing Sir Paul McCartney, Roger Daltrey and Ringo Starr.
DOWNTON Abbey’s final scene ended up being real tearjerker for cast and crew. “I’ve never seen anything that made me want to devour something so quickly”, he said. It’s amusing, the royal family here has a mixed impression with the general public. We’ve waited years for these two insane kids to get over themselves and get together, and we’re not the only ones.
“The world of class… we don’t necessarily have it in such an overt way in the US, so it doesn’t ring true”.
“There’s nothing to stop a whole other generation of people when we’ve all retired”.
On Wednesday, Vanity Fair reported that the final episode of Downton Abbey, which will likely air in spring 2016, is making everyone break down in tears.
