Downtown Disney officially becomes Disney Springs
Walt Disney World announced Tuesday during a celebration that the new name of the park’s Downtown Disney area is Disney Springs.
“Town Center and the second garage are all slated for the summer of 2016”, Bradford said. some of the shops and restaurants coming to Disney Springs including The Edison, STK Orlando, Sprinkles cupcakes, Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Bahama, PANDORA, and UGG.
“The I-4 connector will open up in October”, Bradford said.
He says the ramp will have an option that offers the ability to drive directly into the Disney Springs garage.
The name change coincides with a complete renovation of the complex. It includes a new area called The Landing, which features new bars like the Morimoto Asia and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. It’s also embraced its waterfront location, with many restaurants offering waterside dining and plenty of places to stroll near the shoreline and enjoy a cool breeze or pause to watch a sunset.
The transformation into Disney Springs is scheduled wrap up next year.
The Disney Springs project, which was announced in 2013, includes four interconnected neighborhoods: The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center.
