Dozens march in New York City, protest Donald Trump’s appearance on ‘SNL’
Saturday Night Live returns tonight with a controversial new episode featuring host Donald Trump.
But the evening’s best line came from “Seinfeld” creator Larry David, who yelled out “You’re a racist” from off-camera. But it turned out to be comedian Larry David, who was on the show to play Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
Trump announced he couldn’t appear in the sketch that followed.
“Yes. I had to”, Trump said, according to an “O’Reilly Factor” transcript.
“For NBC to give Donald Trump a national platform to spread his message of hate, the racism, the misogyny, it’s not right”, said one of the hundreds of people protesting Trump’s SNL appearance.
Earlier this year, NBC severed ties with Trump, canceling his “The Apprentice” show because of his remarks labeling Mexican immigrants as drug dealers and rapists.
Mr Trump hosted SNL as scheduled, amid high anticipation, sharp criticism and calls for the show to dump him. A few of the highlights from his latest stint included a sketch in which he insulted the show’s stars via Twitter, a bit with daughter Ivanka about how he’d behave in the White House, and a role as an attention-seeking bar band member.

“The answer is: I have nothing better than do”, he quipped.
Alarcon said the goal of the protest is to wake up the media and to make sure Latino voters aren’t deceived by Trump’s overall popularity.
“But part of the reason I’m here”, he added, “is to show I can take a joke”.
Nearby, there was a small group of people in support of Trump’s appearance.
Another sketch poked fun at his penchant for tweeting.
Trump spoofed himself in a sketch that offered a glimpse of the results of a Trump presidency.
By then, Syria is at peace.
Did it all sound too good to be possible?
NBC has kept a tight lid on the show’s preparation all week, so what can audiences expect from “SNL” and Trump on Saturday night?
Trump seemed like Trump.
Antonio Alarcon/Protester says, “Myself I’m an immigrant”.
“You think you’re this terrific person”.
This is the same network, after all, who essentially fired the Presidential hopeful from The Apprentice after inflammatory comments he made about Mexicans.
