There’s been one reported injury, that being a 13-year-old girl who was cut by shattered glass.
There have been a series of shootings along Interstate 10 in Phoenix. “They’re trying to frighten or kill somebody”, he said.
An off-duty Phoenix police sergeant was driving to work along I-10 Tuesday morning when something hit the passenger side window and shattered it. The sergeant was not in uniform and it does not appear he was targeted, Milstead said. Investigators also have not yet determined whether the incidents are connected.
DPS announced Tuesday this investigation is its top priority and will partner with federal law enforcement agencies.
He urged motorists to be on guard and report any suspicious activity, branding the recent incidents “domestic terrorism”. “Under these circumstances, be hyper vigilant”.
