Dr. Dre Announces First Album In 15 Years
Dre’s contribution to (aside from branding) is questioned by critics but fans of his work will be pleased to know he announced his first new album in fifteen years, entitled Compton A Soundtrack.
Dre stated on his radio present, Dr. Dre’s The Pharmacy, that “Compton a Soundtrack by Dr. Dre” shall be out there August. 7.
The album features a huge list of collaborators including Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem, and is already up for pre-order on iTunes.
Speaking on his Apple Music show Dr. Dre said: “I felt myself just so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album. I kept it under wraps, and now the album is finished”.
Dre said that the album, which drops on August 7, will be his “grand finale”.
N.W.A – which stands for Niggaz Wit Attitude – shocked much of white America in the late 1980s with its unapologetic takes on street life through songs such as “f*** Tha Police”.
While it’s unclear whether or not or not N.W.A. will reunite with Eminem filling Eazy-E’s footwear, followers can hopefully anticipate a number of new music from Dr. Dre-and quickly.
Forbes this year estimated his net worth at 700 million.
The rapper said he didn’t release the earlier version of his third album, “Detox” – which never saw the light of day – because “I didn’t like it, it wasn’t good”.
