Dr. Dre Streams New Album Compton
After a long break in releases, Dr. Dre definitely has people talking again and he’s got the industry buzzing.
Tomorrow Dr. Dre will drop his first album in almost 16 years.
The album is inspired by the upcoming movie, Straight Outta Compton, which tells the story of rap group N.W.A. which Dre was a part of. “Dre not only talked about the process of the album and the work that was put in”, Complex writes, “but he revealed that he will be donating all of his royalties to build a new performance arts center in Compton“.
You can check out the album, which features Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and more, from Thursday.
Following the three-hour album stream on Beats 1, Dr. Dre will discuss the project with Lowe at 9 p.m. PT, at which time he’ll likely elaborate on his big donation to the kids of Compton.
Dre, who is releasing the record alongside the new NWA film Straight Outta Compton, will give away all his royalties from the album to fund a performance arts centre in Compton.
