Drama continues to swirl in Philly following Boykin trade
That made the first day of training camp Sunday a big test for Bradford.
“I think each day that I’m out here I’ll get more comfortable”, Bradford said. “We’re never going to talk about contracts and I never will”. I feel like I always respected him as a coach. Both of the players must have a confidence in each other to succeed together and that clearly is forming and growing with Bradford and Matthews. He is with a new team, learning a new offense and going into the final season of his original rookie contract. Kelly said he is concerned only about the players on his team.
That Chip Kelly and the Eagles gave him the green light to hit the field running without a brace spoke volumes of his rehab.
Bradford was 18-30-1 as a starter for the Rams. At the heart of it was their underwhelming group of cornerbacks which allowed 20 touchdown passes for the year with just nine interceptions to show for it. Four of the six of them allowed a quarterback rating of 93 or better.

Boykin drove to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe and was in pads with the Steelers Sunday. “I think he did an unbelievable job in the 2 1/2 years I was with him and I wish him nothing but success”. “He was disappointed. I think he really liked it here”. Very unfortunate because he was on pace to break his career-highs by a large amount. And then there was LeSean McCoy, who said that Kelly got rid of “all the good black players”.
Veteran DeMeco Ryans said Boykin’s zinger was a case of one voice in 90 exercising an opinion. “That’s a Coach Kelly decision, so I’ll just roll with the punches with whatever [snaps] you get and make the majority”.
The battle for Wide receiver has been hotly tipped as one of the most exciting in the NFL. “Me and a lot of other guys don’t feel the same way”. But that is a culture that the Rooney family has long fostered in its locker rooms, and one that appears to be on the rise once again. What was the problem with you and Chip, and how did that relationship end?
