Draymond Green Reaches Plea Deal To Avoid Jail Time
Earlier this month, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was arrested and accused of slapping a Michigan State Spartans DB and having his goons choke his girlfriend while at a bar in East Lansing.
“Definitely happy to have it behind me”, Green said tonight after Team USA’s 111-74 victory over Argentina in an exhibition at the T-Mobile Arena.
Green, who is now with Team USA as it prepares for the Olympics in Rio next month, was arrested on July 10 in MI after slapping Jermaine Edmondson outside a restaurant near campus and was facing a misdemeanor assault-and-battery charge.
Green, who has been practicing with Team USA Basketball in Las Vegas, reportedly got into an altercation with Edmundson, leading to the slap for which he was charged. Green must pay a $500 fine and $60 restitution fee, but he doesn’t have to plead not guilty, guilty or no contest because it is not a criminal charge.
According to an ESPN report, Draymond Green will not serve jail time for the battery and assault charges he faced in MI.
The post Warriors’ Draymond Green takes plea deal, but it’s doubtful jail was on the table appeared first on Marcus Thompson II.
Green was asked if the incident was blown out of proportion. “I just can’t put myself in position to where something can be blown out of proportion”.
