DROID Turbo 2 Star Wars edition available through Verizon
The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 is getting a makeover from Verizon, and this time, it is getting the Star Wars theme. It’s certainly possible this could the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Bjorn Kilburn vice president, Software Product Management at Motorola revealed in a blog post that the latest version Android 6.0, will bring with it a Doze mode, Now on Tap, Android Pay, direct share as well as simpler volume controls. Back in 2010, the smartphone maker and Verizon rolled out a special R2-D2 edition of the Motorola Droid 2 and filled the device with a bunch of “Star Wars” content. The Verizon exclusive devices with ShatterShield tech and longer battery life were launched in late October.
Moto E will be getting the update in select locations including Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia but excluding China. The Star Wars edition of the DROID Turbo 2 is virtually the same as any other DROID Turbo 2, so be on the lookout for my review of this indestructible phone sometime later this month.
It was initially reported via Android Central that only the three carriers are set to roll out the Android 6.0 M. However, it seems that AT&T will also be joining the party as announced on Google Plus by Schuster.
One of the main talking points about the Moto G Turbo Edition is the support for Motorola’s Turbo Power technology. The device is available for sale starting Thursday at 12 PM IST exclusively via online retailer Flipkart with a price tag of Rs 14,499.
Furthermore, the new Moto G Turbo Edition comes with 16GB of expandable internal storage and 2GB of RAM, while the standard version of the Moto G (2015) is also offered in a version with 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM.
