Drone Video Captures Bruising Mid-Air Encounter With Eagle
This thrilling video captures the moment when a wedge-tailed eagle recently flew into a drone and knocked it right out of the sky.
Lancaster, an amateur drone photographer based out of Melbourne, Australia, tells Buzzfeed he was flying a drone in nearby Skye when he spotted the eagle circling the area.
“She was massive, and used talon’s to “punch” the drone out of the sky”, the statement said. “Hung around overhead so I got a really good look”, the video’s description states.
The Wedge-Tailed Eagle also survived the intense impact.
“Eagle is ok”, videographer Adam Lancaster wrote on the of the dramatic encounter.
The bird of prey was probably protecting its chicks and sensed the drone as a threat.
“If you see a bird of prey while flying”. The Audubon Society reports that last October, YouTube user Christopher Schmidt posted his hawk attack that happened in Cambridge, Mass.
