Drones spots Benedictine monk relaxing atop a wind turbine
A man vacationing in Rhode Island chose to take a drone video of a wind turbine and discovered a man sunbathing on top.
The drone operator, Kevin Miller, spotted him while on holiday in Rhode Island.
It is still unclear who the man was, or if he had permission to be on top of the turbine, but we’d like to imagine that he is a hard-working engineer, just enjoying his lunch break. “If I put myself in his shoes, I would find it surprising and neat that there’s somebody sitting on top of this thing”. “So I decided to drive up to get a super close video while [the turbine] was not in operation”, Miller tells the publication.
It’s a place he’s retreated to for the last nine years after its 2006 construction, according to the school’s website, which describes the turbine as standing a towering 240 feet from the ground to its highest 77-foot-long blade.
He said that he had never seen a drone up close before but was far from impressed with the unexpected visitor. The device zoomed in to get a closer look and make sure the video lens was not deceiving him.
“I moved the drone side to side to say hello and he motioned back to the drone”.
But Byron didn’t look too impressed.
Byron told the Providence Journal (http://bit.ly/1JBbtJz ) on Thursday he’s now hearing from everyone on the planet.
“I am hearing from everyone on this planet”, Byron said after the footage from the drone went viral.
