Dunkin’ Donuts Unveils Holiday-Themed Cup Amid Starbucks Controversy
At least when it comes to Christmas cups.
But all that comes amid a social media firestorm, accusing the company of waging a war on Christmas with its new, plain red holiday to-go cups.
On social media the response to the Dunkin’ Donuts cup was mixed, with a few praising the cup and others pointing out the outrageous response people have had over coffee cups this year.
Christmas movies are playing, shopping is in full swing, and the news is abuzz with the latest attempt to banish Christ from “this holiday of whose name we do not speak”.
“In fact, do you realise Starbucks isn’t allowed to say Merry Christmas to customers?”
In an Instagram post, featuring the Starbucks Christmas cup for this year, Bure said: “It’s a red cup, folks”. So when it comes to relaxing with a warm cup of caffeine this holiday season, I just may get addicted to the company that sees the important holiday the same way I do. “By the way, that’s the end of that lease but who cares”.
“I have one of the most successful Starbucks in Trump Tower”, Trump told a campaign rally crowd in IL Monday night. We asked Feuerstein and Starbucks for comment but did not hear back.
But the donut chain’s more festive decorations – the cups have the word “Joy” written on them, encircled by holiday wreaths – still drew criticism from Donald Trump.
“I think, by the way, as a company, I give them a lot of credit – with what they’re doing on health insurance; what they’re doing on getting educational opportunities for their workers”, de Blasio said.
A tweet from a Starbucks customer explains the controversy: “If your way of “pranking” Starbucks involves buying a cup of their coffee, I’m pretty sure the joke’s on you!” “Seriously, I don’t care”. “We have anchored the design with the classic Starbucks holiday red that is bright and exciting”, he added.
“Starbucks has become a place of sanctuary during the holidays”, Fields said in a statement in The NY Times.
