Durant and Westbrook Named Western Conference All-Star Starters
40 percent of the NBA’s Western Conference All-Star game starters will be from the Thunder. We have our own opinion, which obviously includes LeBron James and Stephen Curry, but also Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green, Paul George and Jimmy Butler among the starters, and we haven’t forgotten about the reserves. Last season, Westbrook received All-Star game MVP honors after posting a game-high 41 points to go along five rebounds at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors, Guard: Lowry made the All-Star game for the first time this season. The Golden State Warriors hotshot is on his way to become the Most Valuable Player of the year again.
Lebron James was selected by the fans as an Eastern Conference All Star Starter for the 12th consecutive season.
This year’s All-Star Game, which will be played at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, could be a special one for James, as he could surpass Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant for the most career points scored in an NBA All-Star Game.
James has averaged 25.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.5 steals during All-Star play.
San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard runs up the court after scoring during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Indiana Pacers, Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, in San Antonio. He’s only 24, but he already might be the best defensive player in the league.
Final results from the All-Star voting were announced with both Kevin and Russell finishing in the top five among all Western Conference players, which earns them both starting positions.
