Durant, Ibaka, Waiters, Enes and Thunder cool off Heat
In ATS trends, the Heat are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 road games against a team with a winning home record, while the Thunder are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points and 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games against a team with a winning record.
The Northwest leaders got 21 points from Durant while Westbrook had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his fourth triple-double of the season before sitting out the entire fourth quarter of Friday’s 113-93 rout of Minnesota.
Chris Andersen (sore left knee), Josh McRoberts (bruised right knee), Jarnell Stokes (illness), Goran Dragic (strained left calf) and Beno Udrih (neck) all sat out for Miami. It was his fifth triple-double of the season and the 24th of his career.
It was the fewest points scored by the Heat this season and the fewest allowed by the Thunder.
The fine was announced Sunday, a day after Memphis beat the Knicks 103-95 in the teams’ first meeting since the league suspended Barnes for two games for fighting with New York Coach Derek Fisher in October.
There were plenty of struggles along the way, as they played against four teams now in the playoffs in the Western Conference.
The Heat are in the midst of a lengthy road-trip, and they’ll need Wade to survive it-so hopefully he isn’t hampered much going forward.
Miami reached the midway point of its schedule at 23-18, despite eight home losses and seven games in which it lost after holding double-digit leads. Wade scored 18 points in the first half, the most he’s scored in the first half of a game this season.
Brandon Knight scored 20 points on 9-for-20 shooting, and Markieff Morris had 17 points and five rebounds for free-falling Phoenix.
“I haven’t gotten any MRIs or nothing”, said Wade, who hoped three days off for treatment will get him ready for the Thunder.
Hopefully the next step is Payne choreographing an entire dance routine for the whole Thunder squad, and they just take to halfcourt to perform it before the game begins. Oklahoma City limited the Heat to three offensive rebounds before halftime and seven overall.
Russell Westbrook got another triple-double and as usual, the Thunder won. He finished with 16 points…. Thunder coach Billy Donovan coached Miami’s Udonis Haslem at the University of Florida.
