Durant leads Thunder to 103-87 win over Pistons
Kevin Durant had 34 points & 13 rebounds to assist the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Detroit Pistons 103-87 Friday. night for his or her fourth straight win. Westbrook had 11 turnovers, tied with Denver rookie Emmanuel Mudiay for the most in a game this season….
Durant, in his second game back from a hamstring injury, played a game-high 37 minutes and added six rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.
The Thunder had another run to put it away, with Kanter hitting two free throws, Durant making a 3-pointer and Westbrook following with another, for an 8-0 run over a one-minute spurt. I just think the leagues going to have to decide.
Plenty of Thunder fans will let Jackson hear it tonight as the arena will be filled with boos whenever he’s announced. It was a slow deterioration of a relationship, culminating in Jackson requesting a trade and the Thunder front office obliging.
But the Pistons are left wondering if a better performance on the glass would have made the game more competitive.
The reporter went on to contextualize the situation, mentioning that there had been “anticipation” surrounding Jackson’s first game against the Thunder, admittedly from the media.
But Steve Blake had Jackson’s back in the first half. Im enjoying this locker room, enjoying this group of guys.. “We did it with (Rajon) Rondo in Sacramento so it’s not just big guys”.
“The Pistons have cooled off after a hot start, but the play of Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson has the club above”.
Not hard to read between those lines.
“I love to be hated”, he said. It’s love and spite all at the same time. “It’s on me to knock them down”.
The Thunder and Pistons were first and second in the league in rebounding coming into this game, but the Thunder outrebounded the Pistons 58-38. There appears to be a building momentum within the team as the execution improves game by game and the chemistry between Billy Donovan and his stars strengthens. “That’s taking a couple from other people”. On a night when Westbrook wasn’t his usual dynamic self, Durant covered for everyone, doing it on both ends.
Its not on me to decide and I really dont think its a coachs decision at this point. He’ll sit there in a chair and work on his ball-handling. Hes a ways away, but hes getting there.
Click on the video to see what they had to say about the loss. The Thunder then went on a 14-7 run to pull within two points with 6:30 to go. For us, its just part of the game..
