Durant to miss 7-10 days with strained hamstring
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced that an MRI revealed their star has a strained left hamstring and will be out for at least 7-10 days and will then be re-evaluated. After nearly a calendar year away from the game, Durant is still working himself into top form, but his return home to Washington D.C.to play the Wizards always garners attention – particularly in his contract year, with endless rumors swirling about him possibly joining the Wiz next year.
“I can walk, it’s just a little sore”, said the former National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player, who put up a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds before exiting.
Heading into Tuesday, Durant was averaging 30.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 50.3 percent from the field.
Washington avoided their recent rash of turnovers, yet lost their third straight game while conceding their most points this season. At that point Oklahoma City held its greatest lead at 26 points. “I’ll get treatment on it and see how I feel after that”. It’s no secret a lot of people believe that John Wall would be the flawless match with Durant, surpassing the on-court chemistry that Russell Westbrook now has with the “Slim Reaper”. “The player, he doesn’t have any say in this one because of course you feel good, but we have to be careful”.
#1) Wittman before the game, speaking in generalities when asked about Gortat’s adjustment to a new style of play on the defensive end: “We all got to get better defensively”. Serge Ibaka finished the game with a season-high 23 points and three made threes.
In a complete blowout, the Oklahoma City Thunder have defeated the Washington Wizards, 116-95. It’s my part of the game where I have to rebound and take that challenge.
That said, Durant would immediately jump aboard as the face of the franchise and primary scoring option of the team. “You get me 27 minutes on Saturday, I’ll get you a rebound”.
We knew we had to come out and play the right way and not be relaxed.
“I’m going to be honest with you: There weren’t too many positives defensively”, Wizards forward Jared Dudley said.
