Durant, Westbrook rally Thunder past Jazz 104-98 in OT
Chris Bosh scored 22 points for the Heat, Gerald Green added 16 points, Luol Deng scored 15 and Wade produced 14 as Miami snapped a season-worst three-game losing streak.
Durant wasn’t the only Thunder player rolling in the second half.
Russell Westbrook blew everyone’s mind again on Sunday night with one of the best plays of the season. Not only did the all-star guard finish with 25 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, but he gave his team some crucial momentum with a remarkable basket right before halftime.
“We didn’t start out so well”, Durant said, “but that’s why there’s two halves of basketball”.
Guard Russell Westbrook scored 25 points and handed out 11 assists as the Thunder (16-8) won their fifth straight game.
“It always feels good to see the ball go through the hoop but I was happier to see us get over the hump as a team”, said Knight, who was 3-for-24 from three-point range in his prior four games.
Burke finished with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks chipped in with 22 and 21, respectively.
Meanwhile, moments after Westbrook’s play, an Oklahoma fan became the first person to nail a $20,000 half-court half time shot.
The Thunder still trailed by 13, but the shot sent the Thunder into the locker room with a last big play. The Jazz answered and led 76-71 entering the fourth.
Knight scored nine of his points in the fourth quarter, all on 3s.
Ironically, before the game went to overtime, the Thunder had possession with a second left.
Oklahoma City stayed close, though, and tied it at 94 on a 3 by Serge Ibaka with 49.8 seconds left. Utah owned a 13-6 rebounding advantage and forced Oklahoma City into shooting 6-for-16 from the field in the first quarter.
