His clearance of 5.60 meters is the fourth-best in the nation and broke UC and AAC meet records. Young prepares to compete at nationals with the No. 5 time of 7:49.76 in the 3,000-meter and Linkletter comes into the meet with the No. 15 time of 13:49.00 in the men’s 5,000-meter. Williams’ Peter Hale is the class of the 3000-meter field and is only entered in that event, while Tim Nichols is the top seed at 5000 meters. Of note, the Glasgow, Scotland, native recorded the fifth-fastest time in Friday’s prelims. Maggard is confident he can improve on his showing from the 2016 campaign. “It just brings me closer to my goal of winning outdoor NCAAs”. “I’ve also gradually been adding to my mileage, and having a good cross country season helped transfer the endurance I’ve gained into the track season”. The eight fastest times from the four heats will advance to the final to be held Saturday at 5:40 p.m. Pipi will be making her first appearance at an NCAA Indoor as well.
“This year, the indoor season has been better than other years”, Valles said. “He ran a 4:10.13 last year and a 4:01.25 this year”.
