Dutch teacher strips off to teach children biology using a spandex suit
She then removed that to show the students another suit showing internal organs and a 3rd suit featuring the skeletal structure.
Debby Heerkens, a biology teacher at Groene Hart Rijnwoude school, in the small town of Hazerswoude Dorp Netherlands, wanted to try a creative approach to teach a lesson about the human body.
After the lesson on muscles was over, she peeled off that layer of clothing, revealing a suit with all the internal organs of a human body.
Students weren’t sure what to expect when their teacher stood in front of the classroom and started to undress.
Underneath her clothes, she was wearing a skintight suit that is printed with details of the human muscular system.
She worked “from the outside in”, according to Omroepwest – beginning with the body’s entrails and eventually getting to the skeleton.
The idea first struck her when she saw someone else who wore leggings with a design that drew her attention.
She posted the video of her class and got over 60,000 hits in Facebook.
Heerkens has been teaching for seven years and has always been creative in looking for ways to keep her students engaged in her lessons. A few commented on the brilliance of the teacher, and others were inspired by her creativity.
