‘DWTS’ Semi Finals: Nick Carter Fights Back After A Big Mistake
“That was Bindi’s normal”, he mom said. Irwin’s routine was flashier and more hard. “That was like a professional contemporary dance company”, Carrie Ann declared as Bindi jumped for joy.
It was a big night for Alek Skarlatos, who had been faltering throughout the season but ended up pulling off a handsome waltz with his partner Lindsay Arnold and ended the night with a score of 57 going into the semifinal. Hopefully not, because the routine is just okay. He also expressed his sadness over the recent tragedy in Paris saying, “My heart just goes out to everybody in France”. “For me, this is where you shine your brightest, when you’re being steadfast and noble”, Carrie Ann Inaba mused before adding that she thought it was his best performance ever. I’m sorry, I know this is a dancing competition, but can we just talk for a second about his incredible physique? I’m in awe. Anyway, this becomes Gymnastics with the Stars for a couple of minutes, with Carlos dancing with a rope nearly more than he dances with Witney. Next stop, Cirque du Soleil? Their cha cha was a mind blower, with Carlos and Witney winning two of the three judges’ votes.
Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess: 24 tango + 30 salsa trio = 54 total The Backstreet Boys poured in this week to help list the tough times in Nick’s life. He doesn’t look as comfortable in this routine. It was a great night of dancing, dancing, dancing, and without as much drama as the past week, thank goodness.
Sammi: I miss what his friends and family say, but the dance is incredibly sexy. Bruno Tonioli said that Nick totally came back from earlier. Carrie Ann tells Nick she knows he’s going to rebound in the next two dances.
Is your favorite show at risk of cancellation? For the trio dance, couples picked a dancer to enhance their performance and highlight the strengths of each star.
Alek and Lindsay then did a patriotic, attractive waltz to “America the handsome”. Bruno calls Alek a gliding eagle and praises Lindsay for polishing his footwork. Carrie Ann says Nick came back strong but Bindi came back with grit. From Bindi’s opening and closing surrounding a hanging light bulb and everything in between, the dance was truly mesmerizing and worthy of the three 10s awarded. Bindi, Derek and Mark got a flawless 30! Bindi and Derek with Mark Ballas danced a Jazz routine for another ideal 30 score! However, she wants more edge. Because of that, the show made a few adjustments where the remianing pairs will perform 3 dance numbers each.
Julianne: Not his best, but he still has more dances. “I think you lost steam at the end”, Julianne said. Julianne agrees that it petered out a bit in the final moments, but loved the choreography. I can’t believe that in all of their time on DWTS, that neither Karina nor Witney has ever danced a Charleston. The combination won these hoofers a ideal score.
Nick/Sharna/Peta Murgatroyd (salsa)The dance: Peta’s back! She had to sit out this season because of an injury. It was definitely his best dance yet, and it was pretty emotional.
Julianne: You executed that very well … “Every dance on the show is a freestyle [in a way] now”.
Carrie Ann: I thought it was a great way to start the semi-finals.
But because of Tamar Braxton‘s withdrawal, no celebrity was out. What was your favorite routine of the night? Do you think Alek did enough to avoid elimination tonight and move ahead to the Finale? Sound off in the comments!
