Dwyane Wade bikes with police to promote unity in Miami
Dwyane Wade may be moving on to the Chicago Bulls, but he hasn’t turned his back on the county that once bore his name.
Haslem joked about how he had to share the South Florida limelight with Wade these past 13 seasons, with both joining the Heat in 2003-04.
“I’m going to damn sure try”, Haslem told Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald when asked about eventually reuniting with Wade. I’ve played my whole career in my hometown my whole life, so I know what an incredible experience it can be. “I look from afar, obviously, and I see that he’s making progress”. But, I never give up without a fight. “So, it was something that I was thinking about, coming back to Miami for the last time, before the season started”.
The night was a bittersweet moment for the players and likely for Heat fans as well who are still upset about Wade leaving. After such a dramatic and seemingly contentious exit from South Beach, it seems insane to think about a future reunion between the two parties, especially when Pat Riley seems so upset by Wade’s departure.
“I didn’t say that”, Haslem said. You said, like somebody’s going to fill in the shoes, walk behind.it’s never going to be done. I won’t ever say that.
Bosh appeared on an episode of Bleacher Report’s Uninterrupted podcast released Wednesday and announced that he’s “ready to play” after dealing with blood clot issues that have forced him to miss the second half of the past two seasons.
“He’s trying to sell his house down here”, Haslem said. “Just the relationship with my brother, man, that’s probably gonna be the hardest thing for me is not to have him by my side”. He is set to return to Miami on November 10 so make sure to mark the date, Heat Nation. “For the last 13 years, he”s been to my left or been to my right, not matter what happened.”.
Could that be with the Heat? Kevin Garnett allowed a trade to the Boston Celtics in 2007 and shortly after Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor caused a long-time rift between him and KG by questioning Garnett’s effort toward the end of a meaningless 2007.
Those two situations required a lot of time between to heal the wounds of discontent.
“He loves to play basketball and he’s one of the best at it in the world”, Wade said of his close friend Saturday after the D. Wade CommUNITY Bike Ride.
