EA Access could add Xbox 360 games via backwards compatibility
The addition of backwards compatibility support to Xbox One later this year could see EA Access expanding to include Xbox 360 games, with the publisher confirming that they’re investigating this possibility.
Well, we suspect for those are already owners of some EA games on the Xbox 360, will not need EA Access to play them. Microsoft is influencing backwards compatibility as a stimulus for promoting more sales; anyone who buys Gears of War: Ultimate edition this year will receive versions of Gears of War 2, 3, and Judgment that can be played on Xbox One.
360 games likely wouldn’t be added to the Vault until November at the earliest, as that’s when backwards compatibility will launch on Xbox One. Now, with more and more games being added to the program, it looks like EA might capitalize, bringing some of those games to their EA Access program.
At the second, there are exclusively 13 video games within the vault, and all of them are trendy titles. Currently, the service and its premium access to the publisher’s games are limited to the X1, but it’s possible that the introduction of backwards compatibility will enable EA to throw their X360 titles into the mix. Hopefully this means we’ll see that game’s excellent sequels soon, along with a few other EA classics. After that, we think it would be safe to say that EA Access is here to stay because gamers are going to jump in to take advantage of the $29.99 dollars per year, sweet deal.
