EA Releases Star Wars: Battlefront Trailer, Epic As Ever
“Star Wars Battlefront” is the single best example of a video game with an excellent premise being held back by its greedy publisher.
One of the first things you’ll notice about “Star Wars: Battlefront”, is the intense amount of detail that DICE has put into everything. If developer DICE were looking to truly reinvigorate the original Battlefront game, they’ve more than done their job. EA instead showcased a deep playable Star Wars shooter that would explore many parts of the Star Wars universe, placing you in huge, epic-scale encounters between the Rebel Alliance and the mighty Empire. However, improvement in hardware sales saw the likes of Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 and (remarkably) Mario Kart 7 return to the Top 40 – these games were bundled with Wii U and 3DS consoles.
Star Wars Battlefront was a good game with a few key flaws, one of which being its lack of depth. As many commenters pointed out at the bottom of the Gamespot article, you don’t need to be rated “M” for Mature to provide in-depth content that appeals both to casual and core fans.
The online multiplayer options are much more diverse and interesting, and are in my opinion ultimately the reason someone would want to purchase this game in the first place. It’s lacking a campaign mode in the eyes of gamers, but it’s got co-op, couch play…it’s not a purely multiplayer game. The title also made lots of money in the United States, where it does well most of the time. According to their official website, “Star Wars Battlefront” is set to receive some new content in the coming months.
These scripted events don’t affect or damage any players in the matchup, but they are very pretty to look at and easily missed if you focus only on the match. Before the 1.03 update, Star Wars Battlefront received two other updates introducing even more fixes and tweaks that improved the experience considerably.
