Eagles coach Pederson takes long way to Super Bowl LII
Pederson and Favre were members of the 1996 Packers team that defeated the Patriots in the Super Bowl that year.
“I can remember this team showing up in April and talking about being at this place, talking about our dreams, aspirations and focusing on a grind”, safety Malcolm Jenkins said.
Added former Ferndale head coach Vic Randall: “Back in 1985, we’d come back from some ballgames and the whole road – there’s cars all the way down through, they’re honking the horn, all the way we’d go through there”.
“It will be a good problem to have”.
“Man, I’m just going to hide his ugly mug”, Long said. But I knew he’d be a heck of a coach. The game at this point cannot get here quick enough.
In all, he played in 100 games with 17 starts: nine with Philadelphia and a 2-7 record and eight with the Browns (1-7 record). They’ve been here so many times.
His first Super Bowl began with the teams combining for a total of 24 first-quarter points, the most in Super Bowl history. They will face five-time National Football League champion Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots on Sunday. And like I told the guys today, I said, ‘Look, I’m not gonna tell you anything you don’t know, you haven’t already heard. “We’ll be fine. It’s not that big of a deal”. “It kind of shaped me and molded the way I think and how I handle our business on a daily basis”.
Blount replied: “Na, there’s ain’t too much I want to ask him”. But the Eagles are quick to remind outsiders not to make the mistake of discounting Pederson again.
Doug Pederson didn’t have a hard sell, either. “He would love to be a part of these games to be coming to this game, being it’s a chance to play for the Super Bowl and all of that”, Pederson said. Running back Jay Ajayi (ankle), defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (calf) and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring) were all full participants.
Said center Jason Kelce: “We’re going to get used to how we’re going to handle the (extended halftime) situation and how we’re going to try and stay loose and not tighten up by sitting in a chair for 30 minutes”.
Behind the golly-shucks press conference approach and at times questionable decisions during games, was a coach not only who could relate to his players but also was crafting a system just waiting for the personnel to take it to the next level.
Pederson became quarterbacks coach in 2011 and then went with Reid to Kansas City as offensive coordinator in 2013.
