Eagles fans start petition asking Pope to bless Bradford’s knee
Consecutive season-ending knee injuries have wiped out much of Bradford’s previous two NFL seasons, which have made Eagles fans nervous about their newly acquired franchise quarterback.
Bradford is getting a fresh start in 2015 with Philadelphia, and while Chip Kelly might have faith in his quarterback’s knees, Eagles fans are taking things to a higher power.
The Pope will be making his way to Philly anyway, so it’s not like he’d be making a special trip.
“With this Eagles season coming up, a lot of our Super Bowl hopes rely on Sam Bradford’s knees staying healthy”, the petition reads.
You know that Change.org petition started to have the Pope pray for Sam Bradford’s knees? “This town deserves a Super Bowl, and a healthy Bradford is the only way we will have a parade down Broad Street”. “Please sign this petition and Go Eagles and Welcome to Philly, Pope Francis!!!!”
The Bishop of Rome is a pretty big sports fan, so maybe he can carve out some time for Bradford.
Pope Francis will evidently be visiting the Philadelphia area very soon, and Eagles fans want to make sure they add something of vast importance to his already jam-packed agenda. That’s what I see. “If he wanted to bless my knees, I’m all for it”.
Bradford said he’s confident about his running abilities when the pocket collapses. I hadn’t put it through four days of practices coming into camp. Bradford is playing in the final year of his contract, so his ability to stay healthy takes on even more importance for himself. He is scheduled to celebrate Mass on September 27, the day the Eagles play a game against the New York Jets at the Meadowlands.
