Eagles interview Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson
Lurie has a penchant for hiring head coaches with a background on offense and McAdoo has worked with the likes of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Giants two-time Super Bowl winning Giants quarterback Eli Manning, which could make him an attractive option for the Eagles given the uncertainty at the position. Hired as head coach by the Miami Dolphins.
It’s not known how long Coughlin was in Philly or what was said, but the Eagles still haven’t decided on a coach.
So far, it’s believed that the Eagles haven’t requested permission to interview any coach whose team is still alive in the playoffs other than Pederson. Coughlin who resigned last week after 12 seasons with NY said last that he would be open to coaching again if felt the situation was right.

Ben McAdoo: Giants offensive coordinator the past two seasons under Coughlin.
After Reid was sacked in Philadelphia, Pederson went with him to Kansas City to be his offensive coordinator. His Giants missed the playoffs the past four seasons after beating New England in the Super Bowl following the 2011 season.
If the Eagles were to hire Coughlin, it could be in a package with McAdoo, who’s 38 years old and has never been a head coach. Or maybe Lurie, vice president of football operations Howie Roseman and president Dom Smolenski are simply regrouping and scouring the market for new names.
Pederson started nine games at quarterback for the Eagles in 1999 and began his National Football League coaching career as an assistant under Andy Reid in Philadelphia in 2009.
The Eagles have interviewed three coaches directly from the Andy Reid coaching tree.
There’s been “so much chatter” about who’s going to get the job, Cramer said. Reid returned to play calling with the Chiefs, but he has increasingly had Pederson call more plays this season. He is one of the most qualified candidates that has gotten interviews, but the Eagles have not and are not going to interview him.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce also thinks Pederson has the chops to be a head coach, whether it happens this year in Philadelphia or somewhere else.
“I think it’s great he has an opportunity, compliment to the hard work he’s put in and he’s done a nice job”, Reid said.
The Eagles reportedly planned to interview Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther, but they haven’t confirmed that.
McDermott has interviewed with the Browns and also will meet with the Buccaneers. CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported Tuesday afternoon that the Eagles, led by Jeffrey Lurie, don’t have any new head coaching interviews lined up.
