Eagles’ Malcolm Jenkins doesn’t practice, in concussion protocol
Kelly’s disclosure of the injury, three days after Jenkins had it, was the first mention of Jenkins’ concussion. Head coach Chip Kelly stated Jenkins is under the NFL’s concussion protocol. He was on the field Wednesday going through stretching exercises, and he was working off to the side with a trainer. He played the entire game Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins sustained a concussion in the win over the Cowboys Sunday night, according to Chip Kelly.
In addition to Peters and Ryans, wide receiver Riley Cooper (toe) and offensive lineman Josh Andrews (head) were limited at practice.
The left tackle was limited in practice Wednesday after missing last week’s game against Dallas, but did travel with the team.
Safety Malcolm Jenkins was absent from Tuesday’s practice. “I think he should be back [Thursday], so we’re not concerned about that”. Now he says his back feels fine, but a pinched nerve is causing pain in his quad.
Peters said while he wants to play, Sunday, he’s going to listen to both his body and the team’s medical staff. I’ll know more Thursday or Friday. Although he is listed as having a back injury, Peters’ quadriceps is actually what is bothering him. Also, safety Jerome Couplin sat out with an injured shoulder.
“[Agholor] was good last week early, and then kind of being out on the field wore him down”, Kelly said before practice Wednesday. Peters went down in the Eagles’ Week 7 game before the bye week and did not return.
Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans was limited in practice Wedesday with a lingering hamstring injury.
Running back DeMarco Murray (groin) showed up on the injury report, but it did limit his practice work.
