Eamonn Holmes brands David Cassidy ‘rude’ and ‘delusional’

The 65-year-old singer recently filed for bankruptcy while in the middle of a divorce from his third wife Sue Shifrin, and he failed to make a good impression during the chat with Ruth and husband Eamonn Holmes.

The 70s star, who has put his Florida mansion up for auction for $1.8million, appeared live via video link from his luxury property for a chat with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford. “I got my advice from my attorneys who said, “This is the opportunity you have because you’re going through a divorce”.

When Ruth remarked that the star had been through a lot, he replied testily: “Yes, I have and I still have fantastic assets”.”When you declare bankruptcy in this country, it’s something you do in order to reorganize what you have, your assets, so I’m not going to discuss that”.

Things got more heated when she asked about his marriage split. “What are you asking me now?” he responded. “How supportive have your fans been through this somewhat hard journey?”

As the interview progressed the Daydreamer singer became more irate, and at one point snapped at co-host Ruth Langsford for interrupting him.

David Cassidy said he was having trouble understanding the interviewers and complained about the delay in the global hook-up. He said: “Probably not”. “The problem is there is a 20% foreign entertainer’s tax and with everything else that it costs to go there”. No, I don’t think so. “I’d love to, but I ended up making 630 dollars last time I went there, so it didn’t make a lot of sense”.

Holmes brought up Cassidy’s three drunk driving charges and chugged a glass of red wine in his name after Cassidy left the telecast. He also apologised to viewers and said: “All the Cassidy fans out there, we only ask the questions, how he answers them are up to him”.

Now, This Morning has had its fair share of cringey and explosive moments when interviewing celebrities (that’s what happens when you employ Katie Hopkins), but not even Kerry Katona slurring over her cornflakes could beat what happened yesterday. “Flawless combo.
