Early voting spots open in every GA county
The former first lady, USA senator, and secretary of state returns to OH on Monday with early-vote rallies planned in Cleveland and Cincinnati, and President Obama will rally in Columbus on Tuesday, also to encourage that early-vote turnout.
That’s about 18 percent down from the turnout levels in 2012.
In Georgia, a voter this week reported trying to cast an early ballot for Clinton but said Trump’s name kept showing up instead.
Nevada is a crucial early voting state.
Unlike absentee voting, early voting is for every registered voter. “I think early voting is necessary because it gives people the freedom to come when they can”.
Electioneering is not allowed within 300 feet of any ballot box while an election is ongoing, and no printed materials – excluding those from the election board – can be publicly “placed or exposed” within 300 feet during the election. The state did not provide breakdowns by party.
On Election Day, Nov. 8, voters must vote at their designated precincts. Republicans are now ahead of Democrats by 34,000 votes, or 3.6% of the vote.
If you vote early, you are doing a favor to the campaign; and you might even be more likely to be taken off the campaign calling lists.
In Colorado, where early voting has been by mail, Democrats led 40 percent to 34 percent among the 416,000 ballots returned. Please note – individuals (who are not disabled) should pick up their own absentee ballots. In the first case, not a single one of the 19 dead Virginians registered actually cast a ballot, so no voter fraud happened. Republican nominee Donald Trump has been publicly accused of sexually assaulting women, which could drive more women to the polls. Polls have indicated that the state looks like a toss-up, and no Republican has ever won the White House without winning Ohio. A common reason given by states for the new policies was to prevent voter fraud. So far, the electorate is slightly less diverse than it was at this point in 2012.
“What it does is allow us to confirm the results of the electronic votes are the same as what the voter had verified”, said Vu.
The Virginia Department of Elections announces two upcoming deadlines for voters wishing to participate in the upcoming presidential election via an absentee ballot.
As of Friday, nearly 680,000 people have already voted in the battleground state, which is down about 18 percent from the early voting turnout levels in 2012. They’re holding a lead there but it’s smaller than at this point four years ago. However, that’s well above pace compared to 2012 and 2008.
Currently, 235,000 ballots have been submitted.
Early voting has steadily caught on, but restrictions have tightened and loosened over time, depending on the state.
Democrats are winning the turnout battle, and are now ahead of Republicans by about 39,000 votes. They’re only about 24 percent today.
Early voting is underway in 37 states.
The Democratic advantage in North Carolina’s early voting continues, but may be slowing down.
There are signs that Democratic turnout started strong but has sagged over time. Now they are slightly behind. Democrats argued it benefited African-American voters during presidential years. Before the new law, about 70 percent of voters were voting by mail.
With the exception of the US citizenship certificate, the approved photo ID must be current or have expired no more than four years before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place.
A second early voting site opened in the high desert in 2012 and a third was opened in the west valley in 2014. The recount process, if it takes place – as it did in the Attorney General elections of 2005 and 2013 – is conducted under the supervision of the circuit court and takes place in a public venue open to observers.
