Earned overseas, brought everything to Pakistan: Imran Khan
NA-122 and and NA-154 (Lodhran) were among the four controversial constituencies – the other two being NA-110 (Sialkot), NA-125 (Lahore) – where PTI had demanded for voters’ thumbprint verification in the hopes of finding a solution that might be acceptable to all concerned.
“Another rally will be conducted at D-Chowk in Islamabad after the upcoming by-polls in Lahore’s NA-122 and PP-147”, he stated.
The ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has awarded ticket to son of Siddiq Baloch who had won against Tareen in 2013 polls but was disqualified by the tribunal for possessing a fake educational degree.
Those who have just come into the PTI fold comprises former MPAs and MNAs.
The polling for the by-election will be held on October 11 with PTI’s Aleem Khan and Ayaz Sadiq as the major contestants for the National Assembly seat.
The minister said opposing development plans from China- Pakistan Economic Corridor to every single project, was the politics of Imran Khan. “Khan is expected to arrive in Lahore on September 30”, he said.
“Can you hold Nawaz Sharif accountable?” he said apparently questioning PML-N supporters, claiming that no one had been given the right to quiz the PML-N leadership about their assets overseas. 32 local PML-N leaders also announced joining PTI on this occasion at Islamia Park. He stressed that the PTI “tigers” should stay with the ECP staff and ensure no rigging was done.
“PM Nawaz Sharif makes policies to improve living standard of the people, while Imran becomes hurdle in the way of all facilities, being extended to the people”, he remarked. He also called upon the government to expedite efforts for tracing the missing Pakistani pilgrims during the stampede, in collaboration with Saudi government, as a large number of Pakistani pilgrims are still missing.
