Eastern Kentucky University shuts down over written threat to ‘KILL ALL’
Officials found threatening graffiti in a men’s bathroom on campus over the weekend.
EKU canceled classes for the rest of the week to further investigate a threatening message found Sunday in a bathroom.
Meanwhile, all Eastern Kentucky University campuses will cancel classes beginning at 10:00 AM Wednesday and will also close Thursday and Friday.
Police presence on campus would increase, they said.
An Eastern Kentucky University spokesperson said the $10,000 reward the university offered has brought in a few tips about the graffiti threat incident. This week I have asked each of you to look out for each other and work together following a disturbing threat of violence on our campus. A few special events may continue as planned with increased security presence.
The university did not release specific details about the threat on social media.
According to EKU.edu, the police will have to conduct an investigation of the continuing threat to ensure the campus can be safe.
The EKU Police Department says they are working with other law enforcement agencies to investigate the graffiti incident, including the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, State Police, and local police.
