Eclipsed Supermoon dazzles skywatchers around the globe
READERS stayed up late to take some stunning shots of last night’s rare supermoon lunar eclipse. Unlike the supermoon event, lunar eclipse occur every three years or less or an average of three to four times in the span of a decade. This combination of events is rare due to the number of conditions it needs to fulfil. But the hour before this and the hour after this is equally impressive as the Moon slips into and out of the Earth’s shadow.
Those in the United States, Europe, Africa and western Asia can view the coupling, weather permitting, Sunday night or early Monday.
