Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars trade Twitter jabs after Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift
The MTV VMAs are famed for their controversy and Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj set the ball rolling early with their Twitter spat over the nominations.
After the spat, Mars chose to make light of the fight, which he likened to the World Wresting Entertainment (WWE), formally known as WWF, by attempting to start a Twitter argument with his VMAs rival, British pop star Ed Sheeran, writing, “Yo I want in on this Twitter Beef!!”
“@edsheeran.” Sheeran, who is 5-foot-8, proved to be a worthy opponent, telling the 5-foot-5 “Locked Out of Heaven” singer, “@BrunoMars any way we do dis you gon’ come up short.” I can’t believe we’re Sheeran this in public. “How dare u!”, Mars replied.
Earlier this morning (JULY 22), VMA nominations were revealed and to the dismay of many, especially to Nicki Minaj herself, her hit Anaconda was not part of the list. Did “Feeling Myself” miss the deadline or…?
“When the “other” girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination”. As an example, she talked about being snubbed for video of the year for “Anaconda” and wrote of Swift’s star-studded “Bad Blood” video, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year”.
“I’m not always confident”.
The Artistes all blew off steam on each other today, making Twitter fun for their followers today.
However, the duo have since reconciled their differences and Taylor has even invited Nicki to join her on stage at the VMAs.
Swift didn’t take too kindly to it, suggesting she has done nothing but support Minaj. Didn’t say a word about u. “I just thought that caption was ideal for that pic!”
“I love you both”.
