Ed Sheeran paid off friend’s mortgage
What a great friend Ed Sheeran is!
You probably know him as the British red-haired pop sensation that took the world by storm in 2014 with his hit “Thinking Out Loud”.
In a recent interview, Ed revealed how he once helped out songwriter and good friend Amy Wadge after she admitted to having trouble paying her mortgage.
Thanks to the song’s success and Sheeran’s generosity, Wadge and her family are doing better financially.
And Thinking Out Loud has been streamed more than half a billion times on Spotify alone, and it eventually went three times platinum in the UK. It wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t come down from Wales to see me, he said.
Speaking to The Mirror, Ed explained: ‘She was going through financial troubles about a year ago. “She drove to my home – my album was almost done – and she or he asked if I might put a song from when I used to be 17 on the deluxe album, so she might get somewhat bit of cash & pay the mortgage loan & bills & stuff”.
Ed arrived in Milan from London on a private jet laid on by MTV. When they finally met, they worked their magic together and came out with the hit “Thinking Out Loud” where Amy was given her writer credits & has now been able to secure a steady income from the song.
But Ed, who’s net worth is estimated to be worth $35m, didn’t just write her a cheque to solve her money woes!
