Ed Sheeran to appear on Home and Away
The British singer will play the role of Teddy, one of the children Emily Symons’ character Marilyn Chambers took care of while living in the UK, The Guardian reported.
Ed’s cameo scenes involve him visiting Summer Bay as a grown up man and to the surprise of everyone, he turns out to be the famous chart-topping musician.
“[Home and Away] is always on in my local chip shop”.
The singer previously said that he agreed to make a cameo because it “sounded like fun”.
Sheeran, who performs “Thinking Out Loud” in The Diner during the episode, thoroughly enjoyed taking part in “an Australian institution”. The effect Ed had on everyone on the set of “Home and Away” was what he called “quite entertaining”.

It’s believed Ed is the only worldwide sensation to have a guest appearance in “Home and Away” after Australian pop singer John Farnham’s cameo in the 1980s. But now producers of the show have uploaded a snippet of his debut on the soap.
Sheeran’s cameo is expected to air on RTE 2 in a few months time.The 24-year-old singer was recently revealed to have been given a recurring role in FX’s gory new medieval drama The Bastard Executioner.
Meanwhile, it has just been revealed that Home And Away favourite Steve Peacocke will return to Summer Bay this week to film a return as Darryl “Brax” Braxton. “I’m sure the audience will like it and it’s a great bookend to my story”.
