Egypt hopeful Salah will be fit in three weeks
The Champion league final which came off on 26th May 2018 between Real Madrid and Liverpool FC saw the star player of Liverpool, Mohamed Salah suffering a shoulder injury which was later diagnosed as a dislocated shoulder.
But if Egypt had reason to cheer, for Liverpool supporters there was alarming news from Spain with a claim that Salah has “ordered” his agent to organise his transfer from Anfield this summer.
Salah sustained the knock during Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday, which raised concerns over his potential participation in the upcoming tournament in Russian Federation.
So, three weeks out from the date of his initial injury means that Salah would miss Egypt’s opening game against Uruguay on June 15 and then be touch-and-go for their second Group A game against hosts Russian Federation on June 19.
After that they face hosts Russian Federation followed by their final group game against Saudi Arabia.
In an interview with BBC Radio on Tuesday, representative of UEFA announced that the ethics committee has been following the incident since Saturday evening, however they had not received any formal complaint against Ramos from neither Liverpool nor Salah himself.
However, on Wednesday, Egypt’s national team doctor and the nation’s football association updated that Salah’s recovery won’t exceed more than three weeks.
Loris Karius was at fault for two of Real Madrid’s goals as the shoulder injury sustained by Salah during a challenge with Sergio Ramos cast doubt over his World Cup hopes.
Liverpool physio Ruben Pons thinks the forward, who has travelled to Spain for treatment, will be out of action for approximately three weeks.
The former Chelsea and Roma striker was instrumental to his country’s qualification for this year’s World Cup after netting a 95th-minute penalty.
However, their first game is on June 15th against Uruguay, a game that Salah is very likely to miss, and it must be questionable whether he will be fit enough to be anywhere near his best after that. I told him he couldn’t do anything about it now and that he should not worry.
