Eifert hauls in 3 more TD in Bengals win

No one expected the Browns to do much of anything against the undefeated Bengals and the Browns did not disappoint during the 31-10 defeat.

The Brown’s offense is often heavily criticized. Manziel had just guided a 92-yard touchdown drive, and the Browns were in the game.

Manziel still not ready to be the answer. But on a 2-7 team whose only other option at quarterback is Josh McCown, a good first half is all a young, talented quarterback should need to get himself another shot. Manziel’s touchdown pass to Johnson came on the very next drive of the game.

-PASSING OFFENSE: C-plus. Johnny Manziel did the best he could considering what he was up against. For a half. And while the second half of Manziel’s evening wasn’t almost as pretty, he did little to indicate he couldn’t get better over time, if he is given it. “I’ve just been released from the hospital and the road to recovery has started!!!” While head coach Mike Pettine is not committing to someone yet for Week 10, Manziel is hopeful he can keep the job.

Marvin Lewis has been with the Bengals since 2003, making the playoffs six times, and despite going 0-6 in the postseason, the ownership and management has stuck by him. For the third time, the 25-year-old hooked up with Dalton for a score, this time a 19-yard touchdown to give the Bengals a 31-10 lead, which stuck until the final whistle.

The incident occurred after a pass by Johnny Manziel fell incomplete out of the end zone, and Burfict and safety Reggie Nelson were in pursuit of the play.

It’s not fair to pin every problem from the offense on the quarterback, no matter if it is McCown or Manziel. The Browns have no chance if they remain one-dimensional.

The Browns as a unit only managed two first downs. Following a 25-yard pass to Marvin Jones, who caught five passes for 78 yards, Cincinnati perfectly executed a reverse and Mohamed Sanu scored from 25 yards to open up a two-touchdown lead. Cincinnati may also have to topple Denver at Mile High in Week 16 to finish with one of the two best records in the AFC. Jeremy Hill, chipped in with 15 carries for 52 yards.

No defense for the defense.

“We’re supposed to stop them and we didn’t”, Desmond Bryant told cleveland.com after the game. He lucked out not getting called for interference in the end zone. “We understand that. It’s hard to do”.

Robinson has started all seven games this season.

When you look at what the Bengals defense has done this year, the overall stats aren’t impressive on the surface.

Manziel needs to play. The score gives Cincy a 14-3 lead over the Cleveland Browns.

Make a few lineup changes, most notably on defense.

There wasn’t any more scoring until the fourth quarter. Pierre Desir started in Haden’s place and Ibraheim Campbell replaced Whitner.

Will any of that make a difference? Who knows? But could it really be any worse?

Pettine declined to say late Thursday night at his postgame news conference whether Manziel will be the starter from here.
