EKU football player killed in Sunday auto crash
State Police believe early Sunday morning, Kraemer was driving on Tates Creek Road in Madison Co. when he went off the road, hit a tree and went down an embankment.
Kraemer redshirted last season at UTEP before transferring to EKU.
Eastern Kentucky redshirt freshman Joey Kraemer died Sunday in a vehicle crash, the university announced Monday.
Steve Lochmueller said. “While his time at EKU was short, I’m sure the impact he made on his fellow students, teammates, coaches and professors will live on”. Lourdes says Kraemer was “filled with faith and love”, and, “kind to a fault”. “We pray that God will give strength to Joey’s family during their time of mourning”, EKU coach Dean Hood said in a statement. The 6-3, 245-pound native of Kettering, Ohio, was eligible but had not played for the Colonels (2-1), who face Kentucky (3-1) Saturday night. “It could be a great game for the state and our two institutions, and we would do anything to help bring a few sort of peace to him and his family”, Stoops said”. He was considered a 3-star defensive end by 247Sports coming out of high school, starring at Archbishop Alter in Dayton, Ohio. “Together, we will share our EKU pride in Joey’s memory and honor”.
Eastern returns to action this weekend against the University of Kentucky. We offer our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and teammates.
